Hicks appears to have something left in the tank. Thats good.

I was wondering how much of a factor that may have been. NY can be a brutal place to play. We know some guys dont handle it well. No one expects him to be 2018 Hicks but, not just being results oriented here, he truly looks like he has something left.

Can't expect a whole lot from Hicks.  He's never been much of an average hitter and strikes out a ton but he does have some power and hopefully, he can get some big hits in an Oriole uniform.  So far so good.

Wanted to note that in Lester's postgame he noted how the Os hitting staff does things differently. Helps with swing decisions. Said that was a factor why he thinks he is having a good year. Now, any guy in a new org may shout out his new coaches but it was interesting hearing him note the difference here and in particular how he believes it has helped with swing decisions.

There is still a spot for Cowser. Santander can DH mostly. Or play 1b and Mountcastle can DH. Or Mountcastle can ride more pine. Anyway you slice it when Cowser comes up it wont be Hicks that will go. It will be Vavra most likely.

He struckout a lot in NY trying to get back from injury. He's got some pop, and as you say, he doesn't hit for a high average. When he's 'on' he's got a solid OBP cuz, ironically enough, he's got a good eye at the plate.
