Orioles paid Cobb 2M last November and are paying him another 1.8M this November.
"Alex, I think we're going to need a lot of middle-middle fastballs today."
He's on a one-year deal in SF and while everyone in the NL is basically in it, he's the type of pitcher that could be available (probably not until right at the deadline) to pick up for the Orioles.
If he helped win a couple Playoffs games for the Orioles, that might make the next 23.5M in deferred payments feel a little better.

Orioles signed Cobb for 4/57 and they got 3 years of a 5.10 ERA and a 7-22 record with an ERA+ of 86 over 41 starts and 25.5M in deferred money through 2035. Crazy. <<sad>>

Kotchman is 40 now so he's clearly too old, Brandon Wood however is only 38, so you're saying there's a chance.
While we joke about that, I'm OK signing Adley until he's 39.
