Wasn't his runner.

We found a weak spot in Arozarena's game.

They're not giving Adley anything here.

As a catcher with a good hit tool he's got to recognize the previous setup pitch, and once you see the next pitch reach eye level the bottom was going to drop out. He would call that pitch whenever he's catching a pitcher capable of throwing it.
Long story short: he's lost at the plate.

The problem is there's several lost right now.

The Rays are always loaded with a bullpen that throws from all arm slots.

Shame that once the pitching started coming around the bats go cold. Can't blame them - they're facing elite pitching.
Hyde chose to not use his sharpest arrows on Saturday, and Sunday they ran themselves out of that game. I sort of get being aggressive on the basepaths, but I don't get stupid baserunning.
Saturday though? Hyde needs to understand that you don't get to choose a 48 hour respit for the backend of your BP. Ideally you may want to go 48, but if the opportunity presents itself in the second game, then you take advantage of it. If it blows up in your face, then so be it. You don't learn the wrong lessons, you just move on.

Adlwy needs a break, he is on an o-19 or 20 right now. Let him have his starts but give him some nights off of DH.
I guess this is one one of the things I don't understand above lineups this year. I like McCann behind the plate. I like Adley more, but McCann doesn't hurt you. He's a good receiver.
McCann has 9 games at C and 5 games at DH. Why not 14 games at C? He can be a full-time catcher....he doesn't need to be, but he can. He should catch vs ALL LHers and on Sundays.
Also, offer Adley 140M now when he's on an 0-fer, not when he's 13 for 22 with a 1.200 OPS and a walk-off.

Rays get so lucky and hit on random dudes like Luke Raley, Yandy Diaz, Josh Lowe, etc
No. They're not just good at drafting and development: they're phenomenal.
If that team were in a market that actually supported the team, they'd probably have four or five WS titles by now.
