I'm going to continue to believe he gets 450 abs this year... but 0 for 3 here is a bit of a surprise.

You saw how Hyde used, or didn't use Stowers last year. No chance he sniffs 400 ABs, outside of injury to Hays.

I am getting less and less enthralled with Hyde as the manager and Elias.

 

IF they truly still think we are a year away from being a legit playoff contender then PLAY the young players to get them the needed experience.

 

Yet they aren't playing Stowers which says we are trying to win now and he's not ready for everyday in the lineup. If that's the case then they really screwed up this past offseason by not upgrading the roster.

 

They just send out mixed messages to the fan base. I don't get it.

 

Now perhaps Stowers has a knock or is not feeling 100%?

If Hyde was Elias' puppet, don't you think Elias' 3rd draft pick as O's GM would play more?

yep, gone are days of the Weaver's and Martin's, I guess Dusty still does as he pleases (maybe), but GMs now seem to run how the game is managed.

 You would think that, IDK why Stowers isn't starting or getting more playing time.  One would think that if Mike was thinking of trading him, he would want Stowers to get more PT to see if he can generate some extra trade value.  It's head scratching for sure.

So, I pick up Urias as 2nd baseman for my fantasy team and started him yesterday, which went well.  Hoping Ramon has a nice hitting game today.

Whatever the reasons are, its Elias calling the shots. Hyde has very little to do with that.

His 2nd draft pick, a natural SS who can also play 3B was randomly told to play 1B three different times in August when he was almost certainly ready to get called up in a pennant race, I think his loyalty to his draft picks might be overrated
