Along with Lewis, the Wiz are sending NO their 2nd round pick this year.

Thoughts?

I think its a better deal for the Hornets than it is the Wizards. The Hornets can get that cap space when they waive Lewis and really build around Davis and hopefully Gordon. The pick is a nice sweetener too.

Wizards add defense but a lot of money to the books.

Welp, this means they're taking Beale. Like the deal for the Wiz, Arenas and Lewis now both off the books, the cap dollars aren't too terrible and now, with Nene, they have a pretty good defensive team (at least in the front court) in Nene, Ariza and Okafor.

Looking like Beal now for sure, which I like personally, though I do know they've been in on Barnes too this past week.

This greatly improves the defense, and Okafor and Nene are pros on and off the court. Changing the culture too.

Obviously it's easy to see the Hornets M.O. here, good for both teams.

I dunno I'd be surprised if Charlotte took Beale over Robinson or Barnes.

I think it's a good deal for both teams. Beal is definitely the pick now, pending he doesn't go #2.

I guess a starting 5 of:

Wall
Beal
Ariza
Okafor
Nene

for the Wiz? Certainly hope Beal is as elite of a scoring option, as they will need it. As Pedro said, should be a solid defensive team.

I like the move for the Hornets as well. They'll buy out Lewis, so they now have the #1 and #10 picks in a deep draft, Eric Gordon, and a whole lot of cap room. They're in good shape.

Robinson will be a 10+ year pro...He has great make up and an NBA body. But I don't see much more than very good role player when I see him.

Yes. Don't dismiss MJ's & HB's relationship. Plus Barnes has been really impressive in individual workouts...Granted I'm following his prospects more than others, so I'm not sure how Beal, MKG, and Robinson have done.

Yeah, Barnes has been worrying about his "brand" far more than he should be.

I really like MKG- he may not be the scorer that Beal is, but is an extremely hard working player who will get the most out of his abilities.

The Wiz front court won't wow people but they won't get pushed around and they'll play smart basketball -- quite a relief. Going from McGee and Blatche and Nene and Okafor is a welcome sight.

Great analysis. Can't argue with a word of that..

The "Bullets forever" site, has some of the individual numbers, and Barnes literally grades out the best overall of them, including the unibrow. Impressive.

Keep in mind that Kevin Durant couldn't bench 135 in pre draft workouts, and he turned out ok, so take everything with a grain of salt..
