True, but this article has nothing to do with the major league roster. The International market was a complete void before the Stat Pack and it looks like now the Orioles are catching up the rest of baseball.

It's insane that Angelos was that small-minded (likely a combination of being a xenophobic miser). First generation Greek immigrant who had no problem pulling up the ladder once his family was done using it.

It wasn't xenophobia. It was Peter not respecting what was necessary with the Buscones.

We're still lauding them for catching up to what pretty much every other franchise was way ahead of them on...
Yes, but they finally have stopped operating with that hand tied behind their back.

On the flip side, billable hours growth is off the charts.

It honestly just makes what they've been able to accomplish with the farm system even more impressive because our incredible list of top 15 prospects doesn't include a single international signing. They're coming but it just takes such a long time from the time you turn that tap on to when you see the results.

Interesting. What a foolish hill to wage battle, particularly without the support of any other owner.

Pete was never afraid to die on a hill alone. In some ways it was a good thing (refusal to use replacement players) and in some ways it wasn't (cozying up with a brutal dictator).
