Been some sloppy special teams play in both games today. Washington just handed Texas a gift TD with a muffed punt.

Texas is fortunate they're not behind even more to Washington. Their defense is giving up way too many big gains, and they're getting beaten badly on first and second down. They did hold Washington to a field goal after a turnover in their own territory, but if not for that muffed punt by the Huskies in the first half, they could be down 17 or more.

The NCAA didn't get the Bama/Texas rematch they wanted when they set up the seeds. Happy for that. The 2 undefeated get to play.
Saturday Ravens game means nothing, so a Steelers win with a Miami win would knock out the next media darling Buffalo. The NFL can't do an NCAA and still put Buffalo in the playoffs.

Some are worse than others. That said, Georgia was clearly motivated to make a statement today, FSU was not.
This game is Exhibit A for those who can't wait for the 12-team playoff. Georgia might still have dominated FSU under those circumstances, but we'd see much more complete rosters and better effort on both sides if this game mattered.
I thought Kirby Smart made some pretty classy statements after that gaming, basically acknowledging that the FSU team that they faced was a shell of the team that went undefeated and saying that something needs to change.

Two real good games yesterday, and they were the first two I actually watched, so good for me.
I think this might be the year of the Harbaugh.

Fl St was missing something like 15 starters .
