Damn, just caught up on DVR. Strange game. Defense a strength for both teams of course but seems like a lot of self-inflicted misses as well.

For a week with two losses, still feels like a somewhat encouraging week. Just gotta make shots.

We made 3 FGs in the first half. Two were 3s. We made one two pointer in the entire half and still almost won.

Tennessee played like garbage for 25 minutes. I mean, I get teams will have down days (cuz neither team looked like they belonged in the top 20 today).

Disagree with that. Tennessee is number 1 in defense in KenPom. It was the exact kind of battle I was expecting. This is what they do. Terps are the 33rd best defense in the country.

Maryland doesn’t budge in KenPom’s rankings after the loss, still ranked #18. Tennessee also stays put at #3.

Not sure what to expect with the rankings tomorrow. I would guess Wisconsin and Miami to move into the rankings. But many of the teams below MD in the top 25 had uneven weeks as well. Those were 2 losses on the road (1 neutral) to good teams. Both close games.

Somehow, Charleston was 2nd in others receiving votes this week and won their games this week, but are 99th in KenPom. But I guess they could be ranked too?

I think MD should stay ranked but it’ll be close.

UCLA #7 in KenPom (8th offense; 24th defense).

After today, maybe UCLA’s very good defense will seem poultry.

Bruins aren’t quite as good as seasons past IMO. Haven’t beaten anyone. Lost by 9 to Illinois and by 5 to Baylor. They’re good, but I’m not scared. Hopefully Xfinity is rocking. Pretty sure I’ll be there.
