In more ways than one, the dynamic for the Baltimore Orioles heading into this year's Rule 5 Draft is different than in years past. The Orioles have a strong group of prospects to protect by Tuesday evening’s deadline, with four seemingly locks to receive a 40-man roster spot and several others making strong cases. https://baltimorespo...ioles-protect/

BSL: 2022 Rule 5 Draft: Who Will The Orioles Protect?

The Orioles have a strong group of prospects to protect by Tuesday evening’s deadline, ....
...actually seems like the fit for the 40-man is a little better/easier than other recent years.
Sitting at 34 and there's still a fair amount of fluff in the 40. If you add the top 4+Denoyer (that was Bob's 5 adds), you are still at 39 with an open spot.
If that's what they do...who are we concerned about losing (getting selected)? ...if a 25 year old reliever at AA with an ERA over 5.00 is the big loss, then....

I really do not see a lot of fluff left. Watkins and Cameron, probably are the 2 in the most danger of losing a spot. I think the Orioles protect 5 and save one spot for R5. If we sign players than Watkins and Cameron are probably gone. Vespi is a possibility too.

WOuldnt classify them as fluff but guys lke Cano, Gillespe, Vallimont, Zimmerman, Kolozsvary and Nevin could all pretty easily go in addition to the ones you named. 4 will be added. Denoyer will be the intrigue
