Sure but if you need 3 days off after Tues then it tells you how irresponsible was to throw him 6 outs. He didnt throw a crazy number of pitches. If Bautista said Id like one more off skip then you know it is what it is and you obviously oblige him.

I mean I get that, but Tuesday was the only win of that crucial series, they kinda had to have it with Manoah the next day and coming off a DH sweep the day prior. But I get it. It’s a bit much, seemingly, but the guy must be pretty tired. Don’t know where he is innings wise relative to previous years, but I can guarantee they weren’t high leverage to this degree. Majors, in a playoff run, as a rookie. Emotional fatigue can be a thing too perhaps.
