Hyde managed the game like he felt it was a must win.

Absolutely did. It ended up being a do or die situation. Not really die but I mean losing a 3rd in a row while using the pen the way he did tonight. But I mean you get it. We had to play tonight like it was a playoff game. BTW Tate and Perez are avaliable. Didnt overuse them. Like I said, I expect Bautista to be available for an inning despite the 6 outs and pitch count

Yep, I think I placed as much importance on tonight's game as any played this year. A loss tonight and we're starting at a sweep, meaning six-and-a-half games out potentially with just 25 to play. Not impossible mathematically, of course, but highly improbable.

 

Tomorrow's game, while arguably not quite crucial, now ranks as the most important game of the season.

The team continues to fight.  I also think last night rekindled the dislike of the Blue Jays and the rivalry with Toronto.  Baseball is fun again.
