This is a very annoying delivery.

Yet another pitcher that throws from the set position with no one on base. Seems to be all the rage in baseball now. On a side note-very surprising to see Adley swing at that ball in the dirt. He must be channeling Mateo today.

Adley has definitely tapered off a little bit.

Jays won and O's bats forgot to show today. Down 4-0 headed to the 7th.

Let's beat up on their bullpen.

He's got the best eye on the team so it was surprising to see him offer at a pitch so blatantly out of the strikezone.

Still time for a 9th inning rally.

Looked like this was going to be an offensive day with 2 of first 3 reaching and having 2nd and 3rd with 1-out.  Didn't turn out that way.  Series win is good, but you'd like to take advantage of the weaker teams (people keep saying this, but it wasn't too long ago, everyone said that about when playing the Orioles too).

-----------

One thing, and I'll probably put this in the other 2023 thread, but I think the Orioles need to find a solid LH-hitting DH-1B-CO type for the bench+ role.  I don't really like prospects in that role.

I think Seth Brown would be an interesting target.  He's 30, but still pre-arbitration so he's got a different career trajectory at this point.  Playing a strong bench role on a hopefully competitive team could be interesting to him   A's are going backwards next year and he makes little sense for them in 2023-2024.

Something simple like Joey Ortiz and 2 DSL kids outside of the top 30 would seem a reasonable package.  OAK lacks much in terms of MI prospects so getting something with some modest projection (top-20 kid) for Brown would seem reasonable.

-----------

No rally....big double-header tomorrow.  Wake up the bats.  Who has a chicken?

Which is why you shouldn't be allowed to enjoy winning.

Its just a stupid trade. If youre gonna trade Ortiz you use him in a package for a player much better. Just ridiculous trading a player like Ortiz for Brown. You want Brown you dont have to give up a top 15 guy in this system. Or 20. Probably not even 25

Second time they completely crappped the bed at home on a Sun against a horrible team

The other team is trying and all that I get it. But being this flat on a Sun twice against very bad teams at home is annoying as hell

I was there today. Whenever I go to a game, win or lose I can have a good time... as long as we don't get shut out. Home shootouts, especially to terrible teams, are just the worst. Pretty dead crowd today, even before the game went south. Not much energy in the stadium from the start.

I imagine it was hot and that combined with a bad game, shuts the crowd down.

We promised we would take the grandkids to the State Fair, and I did not see the game, I did not miss much, although it would be a whole lot cheaper to watch the game.

Huge day tomorrow. Biggest  in season day for this franchise in 6 years.
