Aren’t the platoon splits a little small sample size? McKenna has 50 PAs against LHP.

And as long as you don’t start Mullins against lefties, he can’t ever raise his numbers against them. So he’s stuck in this platoon forever?

So do you wait until McKenna gets to 174 PA against lefties (Mullins total in 2022) to see if the platoon is really working? Does anyone really expect McKenna to keep up a .910 OPS vs lefties? It’s almost like you’re betting on the guy who sure to regress rather than the guy who is sure to improve against LHP.

It’s like, most guys can’t play 162 games, he’s going to get a game off here and there, might as well be against a lefty where he’s worse than normal.

If the O's don' start finding some decent hitting soon it isn't going to matter what kind of platoon they use. Our record against the teams we face the rest of the way is less than .500. Yes we do have home field strength and that will help. But we gotta get the bats going.
