The Phillips hate needs to stop. With Hays back he may start once a week
For my part, it is not hate. He is a plus defender with terrific speed, but he can not hit and his roster spot would be better awarded to Stowers or even a third catcher because Adley is going to DH 25% of the time.

Having Phillips and McKenna on the roster seems rather redundant, except one can hit RH and the other LH.
I think McKenna has a chance to be a good 4th outfielder. He has contributed offensively too.

If you think a .180 BA and .538 OPS against RHP is hitting RHP then sure, I guess.

I meant as in one can bat from the right side, and the other from the left side. They're both speedy, glove first 4th OF types with limited offensive potential. There's really no room to carry both when you're limited to a 26 man roster. I'd keep McKenna, though.

Unless there is a way to quantify vibes and show he makes a meaningful impact in that regard I think the hate is justified especially while Stowers is still in AAA.

Being all for the trades, and then citing the playoff race for why Stowers isn't here feels a little like having it both ways to me. But honestly, I'm just over it at this point, you think it's justified, that's fine, many others do to it seems. I'm good where I am and we don't need to keep going over it, I guess you're right, the hate needs to stop, fine. Everyone knows where I stand, I can do that.
Phillips playing more than once a week or so is ludicrous. If they're gonna do that, there is no justification. Should 100% be Stowers over him in that case and there is no good argument otherwise. Phillips in place of McKenna is fine. I wouldn't do it, but whatever. Phillips in place of Stowers is not.
I also am with you that the "won't play Stowers in a playoff race" argument holds no water at all. Just doesn't make any sense. We're throwing Rutschman and Vavra and Bautista into this playoff race. Why not Stowers?

I have no feelings on Phillips. It's whatever.
Stowers should be in the lineup. It shouldn't be hard to have Santander DH'ing (primarily) and Stowers in RF (primarily).

Or I could be wrong. Maybe they truly dont feel Stowers is ready. But there is a reason he isnt up here and its not service time manipulation
I dont know what to tell you. I think Stowers is likely up here and starting if we are 10 games under .50p

This unending need to defend every move Elias makes is what needs to stop. He is relatively new at the job and hasn't fully proven he can put the right guys on the field especially for a winning team. At the very least he's not above criticism.
First the trades were perfect. Now he's perfectly handling a potential playoff team a few weeks later. I don't see how he can have it both ways.

People can be annoyed at the dead horse/broken record Phillips hate without it being a defense of every move Elias makes.
For me, if Phillips is the 26th man or so his presence doesn't matter. If he's starting 5 games a week then I hate the move. So far it's been more of the latter, but hopefully with Hays back it'll be more the former.

I think it's all about perspective and the truth is somewhere in the middle.

I do agree its not service time manipulation. But I don't think Phillips is here over him because of the playoff race. They obviously want Stowers to hit some kind of development milestone that they set and aren't going to rush off of it but it is frustrating nonetheless.
