It is amazing how a little success settles down a hitter,
Mountcastle stayed off 2 balls off the outside corner. Last week he would've swung at both of them

Nothing bad has happened yet but you can see the effects of losing Jorge. Tate probably goes 2 innings here. Bautista is saved for 9th. Just losing an extra high leverage arm.

Krehbiel is interesting. The change up is nice and it’s been a consistent weapon for him. When you look at his numbers, his hard contact % is about the same for his career, but he is getting 10% more ground balls, which is significant, and I believe due to the sinking action on that change up. But his weak fly ball contact is actually down. His pull % on contact is 45.5%. I think he is another one, like Watkins, who is benefiting from the wall.
So like the idiot I am - I looked up his home road splits after typing the above but before posting - I’m wrong. He’s been substantially better on the road this year, and all 4 home runs he’s allowed on the season have been at home.
Baseball.
