Are you trying to get me riled up again with more stories of other QBs playing through serious injury? :)

I'm going to forgive the salty take because the point is solid, and I also think that rookie scale contracts need a bit of a positional adjustment. Maybe take some percentage of the transition tag number and add it to the annual salary of each rookie contract. Rookie scale contracts are too distorting to qbs right now.

Meh. They’re already scaled by draft position, and draft position is presumably also scaled by positional value, so it’s fine. If you want to graduate your QB as Bucky Brooks would say and always stay on a rookie deal, go for it. But that isn’t a panacea, it has its own risks.

I think it explains Allen's falling back into throwing bad interceptions.  But I think Dawson Knox hit it on the head when he said the team "stalled from an energy standpoint."  I thought the Damar Hamlin injury and remarkable comeback could carry them emotionally through the playoffs but instead I think it drained them and finally caught up with them.

They came close to letting Miami beat them with a third string QB and on Sunday they looked like they were playing with no energy at all.  They couldn't get pressure on the QB, their secondary couldn't cover.  The first two drives Cincinnati was completing every pass and ripping off long runs on every running play.  Buffalo just looked drained.

PTSD is a real thing, and I can’t imagine some of those guys weren’t really wrecked after witnessing all of that right in front of their eyes.

People forget that you get a top 5 pick in rd 1, but you also keep picking in the top 5 of all the other rds.

Allen seemed to be always looking for the big play forcing deep passes that weren't there. Their hard hitting D looked tired. outside of Milano no one hit hard.

Bills defense missed Von Miller.
Bills offense misses not having much of a running game beyond Allen. Also haven't developed enough threats opposite Diggs.

Beyond that, sometimes you get beat, or have off weeks...that get exacerbated in the postseason vs good teams.

Yup the Hamlin stuff is mostly narrative. Allen was suspect to say the least. No running game. D took a step back as time went on. Cincy was the better team. Period. It was very early in the reg season game but it sure seemed like Cincy was going to win that one too.

Some weirdos on twitter think Hamlin is actually dead and it was a body double at the game Sunday lol.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note

"Now OPS sucks.  Got it."

"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty
