That would mean them going 10-5 over the final 15 games, which I really can’t see happening. Including this game, you have 5 games against lesser opponents (Rutgers 2x, Minnesota, Nebraska, Penn State). Even if you win all of those (which is far from a given with this team), you’re talking about finding 5 upset wins.What do you think the cap is on Big Ten regular season wins MD can have? 11? 10?
I think most would set the over / under for MD at 7 or 8.
If they maxed out and got 11 (I guess depending on who the 11 wins was against)... I'd think they would need another win, and probably two in the BTT.

Those numbers are what they are due to the OOC. He’s scored 27 points in 5 conference games. Just terrible. My observation is, beyond the numbers, he hurts the team more than he helps when he’s on the floor. Can’t overlook the persistent foul trouble either, another consistent in conference in particular.
Re: Wahab... he's not horrible, but his limitations are definitely limited.... more than that, he was on numerous lists as one of the Top 5-10 transfers... and he's definitely not the guy he was built up to be.
9 points, 7 boards, 1 block per... 21 minutes a game... he's not a total zero.
Will be interesting to see if he stays. Probably not.
Also, an indictment on Turgeon and Manning to a degree if he was really that highly regarded, and this is what we’re getting. That said, they can’t force him to be in shape, and clearly he’s got severe conditioning issues IMO.

MD's regular season final is March 6th.
Big Ten Tournament the following week.
Selection Sunday the 13th. Good chance MD doesn't go to any tournament.
The Sweet 16 is the 24th and 25th....
Have to think MD has their Coach in place by April 1st.

MD lacks a superstar, but they aren't devoid of talent. They've got enough to be in most games... but they don't have guys they can definitely depend on every game, or productive depth right now.
If I had to bet today, I'd say they'll finish the regular season with 8 wins.
Wouldn't surprise me if the final number was 5.
If you can't win today, the wheels probably fully come off and 4-5 wins is the right call.
Wouldn't shock me if the final number was 11.
I think the chances are probably under 10%, but not 0.
Possible path to 11:
Rutgers today: 2
@Michigan: 3
@Rutgers: 4
Indiana: 5
Iowa: 6
@Nebraska: 7
PSU: 8
Minnesota: 9
2 vs. Illinois, Michigan State, @Ohio State, @Purdue, @Ohio State, @Michigan State

Yeah, Wahab is bad. Not a Power 5-caliber center. But they needed basically any warm body over 6’9” so it is what it is.
Big East had 4 teams in the NCAAT last year. Is it Power 5? No... but he wasn't in the American East.
Last year: 28 minutes, 12.7 ppg, 8.7 boards, 59% from the floor, 8.3 FGAs, 67.3% at the line, 1.6 blocks
This year: 21 minutes, 8.7 ppg, 6.7 boards, 57% from the floor, 5.6 FGAs, 67.3% at the line, 0.9 blocks
CBS Sports: Best transfers - Wahab 3rd
https://www.cbssport...mmits-to-texas/
Stadium: Best transfers - Wahab 10th
https://watchstadium...021-05-19-2021/
So yeah... maybe an indictment on Turgeon and Manning that they haven't got more.

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."

I can’t see Pikiell staying there so you’re probably right.
Rutgers kinda stinks. Maybe they’ll make the tourney again in another decade.

Of course Wahab and Reese doing what they do most consistently, each have 2 fouls at the half.
