* The commissioner now has the flexibility to set the trade deadline any date between July 28 and Aug. 3.
* The domestic draft (officially known as the Rule 4 draft) can now be held any time between June 1 and July 20. The draft lottery will begin in 2023, so the Orioles hold the No. 1 pick in this coming 2022 draft.
* The 2021-2022 international amateur signing period will continue through Dec. 15, 2022 and the 2022-2023 signing period will run from Jan. 15, 2023 to Dec. 15, 2023. The parties have agreed to decide if there will be an international draft starting in 2024 by July 25, 2022. If there is no draft, then future signing periods will run on the Jan. 15-Dec. 15 schedule.
