This Texas/Gonzaga game is good. Texas has methodically pulled to within 11 since halftime with really good defense and rebounding, and starting to find a rhythm on offense.

Still think they'll lose, but this is just the second game together with an almost entirely new group of players. But Beard is the real deal, and I think it's going to be different this time for Texas. They've shown toughness tonight I haven't seen there in a very long time.

Gonzaga just keeps throwing haymakers. Storm out of the time out to get it back up to a 14 point lead. Timme with a new career high of 32 points with 7:38 remaining.

As of now, Michigan looks like one of the more over hyped teams early on. You see the talent though, so we'll see how it develops over the year.

Seton Hall is a very solid team this year, especially defensively. They received votes in the AP Poll before this game, and KenPom has them ranked #30. Obviously a game Michigan should’ve won, though.

Not sure it's an overreaction to be concerned with Maryland's basketball program after the start of the season they've had.

 

They've had what I would call one good win (Vermont) and the rest are head scratchers. George Mason are likely to have a good season in the A-10 this year, but they're ranked 138th (KenPom). Hofstra 144th, and Quinnipiac (who they beat by 14 points) are freakin 245th. GW (a 7 point victory) is 257th! Maybe not so much with George Mason, Hofstra and Vermont (95th), but they needed to be almost doubling up Quinnipiac and George Washington.

UConn nabbed a big time recruit for the ‘23 class, 6’6” PG/SG Stephon Castle out of Georgia. Hurley’s building something special up in Storrs.

Great weekend for Purdue basketball. Knocking off Villanova in a late comeback win today, after beating UNC in a close one last night. I'd have them #2 behind Gonzaga and ahead of UCLA, but at a minimum they should be #3 ahead of Kansas.

#1 Gonzaga vs. #2 UCLA at 10 PM tomorrow. Game will be played at T Mobile Arena in Vegas.

Purdue did jump Kansas and is the new #3, and also received one first place vote. Zaga and UCLA remain 1-2 ahead of the big game tomorrow night. As a reminder, Zags beat the Bruins 93-90 in OT in the Final Four in April.
