IMO, John is one of the best writers around. I met him when his kids were playing in some sports programs I ran. A real good guy too.

The Sun had some very good baseball reporters over the years, as did The Post. The difference between the two papers is just such that The Post reporters stuck around long enough to become institutions, whereas The Sun guys moved on as soon as their talent became apparent to bigger news outlets.
