Obviously an awesome bet
Wish I would have seen this one earlier, probably still wouldn't have gone for it only because I can't win anything on Wizards bets. I blame Westbrook on basically everything.

Just want to say I think it's awesome Pedro opened this up. Hopefully we can all put some extra coin in our pockets. I encourage anyone with a bet too good to pass up to share it. The point is to beat Vegas, not each other.
As always, bet at your own risk. But if this thread could be a smaller version of the group that made bank on Gamestop, that'd be awesome.

Saw an ad for PointsBet that if you bet $50 on a 1 seed to beat a 16 seed, you win $250.

Guess I should have read more. New customers only, first bet only, and the $250 pays out in the form of free bets.
So, you have to bet with that $250 to be able to then cash it out, right? Could you just place a live bet on a game that’s a blowout with little time remaining? Something where the odds are -10000, and then cash out your $250.03?

DK had a hammer the over for UGA/Clemson last night for a free $25 but they have Bucs at +73 for Thursday at -110. They said max bet is different for some users. My max was $50, so $45 payout.

I usually see them advertised on the app. DK puts their promos at the top of the home screen of the sportsbook app. There's also a promos tab that check out occasionally.

You actually do it here through the Oregon Lottery (so it's another ATM for the state). You can also do it in-person at the tribal casinos.
When I said it was always legal, that's only partially correct. Sports betting was never illegal under federal law (it was grandfathered in with NV and a couple other states when the law was enacted back in 1989), but it hasn't always been available either. It was only a little over a year ago they brought it back after a hiatus of a couple decades. They halted it as part of a deal with the NCAA that would let them host NCAA postseason events, most notably March Madness.
In news that would only matter to me on here, Oregon will be switching from its state lottery run online gambling platform to DraftKings. The switch should be made in time for the NFL Divisional round games next weekend.

DK has a hammer the over on the Bills game this weekend. Only allowed me to max bet $10.03 though. A free $9 is better than nothing.

Not really a promo, but live, in-game betting is my favorite thing right now.
Last night, St. Marys was +2 against San Francisco. San Fran opened up a 19 point lead in the first 10 minutes of the game. So the live line became St. Marys +14.5. If you figure St. Marys is a solid team, Vegas believed the game would be close, and are more often right than the rest of us, getting St. Marys +14.5 seemed like a steal.
They ended up coming back to win, so the +2 bettors had to sweat, but still won. But the +14.5 bettor (had I not fallen asleep) got to relax as the game got close.
Anyway, thats going to be something I'm going to pay more attention to. Good teams that get in a deep hole early. If a 2 point dog is all of a sudden a 14.5 dog because they simply came out cold, I'll take that value and the chance that they will turn it around.

Tonight again, Colorado State (-14.5) vs. UNLV. UNLV opens the scoring with a 3 pointer. Live line immediately drops to CSU -10.5, two minutes into the game. Why bet anything until the game starts? If you wait two minutes they might give you 4 points.
Cleveland State (+2) @ Wright St. Wright starts on a 9-0 run. 4 minutes in, Cleveland State is +8.5.
There has to be value over the long term in there.
