I figure, eventually, Maryland will get legalized betting.  In the meantime, places like Barstool, Fanduel, Draftkings, etc are all hankering for our business and our friends in places where it's legal (literally every state that touches Maryland including DC) can take advantage of these sites handing out money.

Here is the first one I've come up, feel free to add any you see.

DraftKings sports book is offering a $25 max bet on the Lakers/Nuggets OVER on their game on 2/14.  The catch?  The over is at 55 right now (lol) and will go down a point for every 1,000 people who bet it.

So, yea, free $25 from DK.

I wish I had thought of this thread the last night.  FanDuel was giving away 55:1 odds on a straight moneyline bet.  If you were in a legal state and bet the Chiefs and had a buddy bet the Bucs you were guaranteed to split the $275 winnings (max bet was $5)

Stoner, if this isn't kosher feel free to delete but everyone can use free money these days.

I should also add that some of these promos pay out in "site credit" which basically means you have to bet it again -- it's basically a risk free bet.

I'll mention that.

They also have a lot of promos for first time users.

You can sign up, and get a risk free bet up to $1,000 and if you lose you get the $1,000 to play with in site credit.

The Lakers/Nuggets bet, I believe, pays out regularly, but it always pays to read the fine print.

Great thread idea and definitely worth the time to get in on these. Netted almost $100 this week doing guarantees like this.

This is a fun thing BarStool Sportsbook does every day

#ReduceTheJuice with Barstool Power Hour. Enjoy bettor-friendly discounts on standard odds across selected matchups. Check back daily, as a new Barstool Power Hour will be live from 5PM-6PM EST every weekday.

ENDS 06/30/21

The odds boosts aren't always great but every once in a while you'll see a slight change in the juice that makes a bet worth it.

Update, not that it matters, but this has been bet down to over 24 points, which will likely hit in the first 5 minutes of the game.

Is this just something they do on occasion to try and get some new players to sign up

Mostly yea. They want you to bet, win and keep betting.

There are a TON of promos for new users but the ones I’ll list here are mostly for everyone. And they happen randomly

For example, the barstool reduce the juice is for everyone, pays out to your cash account and has no max bet

Draft kings sports book is offering a $1 bet to win $100 if either fighter lands a punch in the Usman Burns fight.

New users only and the pay out is in four free $25 bets.

Virginia only is doing a "Spread the Love" promo on FanDuel Sportsbook for the Wiz Celtics game on Sunday.  $50 max bet for anyone, pays out in cash, not site credit.

Basically a free $50 from FanDuel.

Not that it matters to me, since sports betting has always been legal in Oregon, but can you get around the state legality issue by using a VPN?

I tried once and it didn’t work but maybe I was doing something wrong?

Seems to me if a VPN can work around mlb.tv it can work around an online sportsbook

How do you bet in Oregon? The state doesn’t appear on FanDuels list

You actually do it here through the Oregon Lottery (so it's another ATM for the state). You can also do it in-person at the  tribal casinos.

When I said it was always legal, that's only partially correct. Sports betting was never illegal under federal law (it was grandfathered in with NV and a couple other states when the law was enacted back in 1989), but it hasn't always been available either. It was only a little over a year ago they brought it back after a hiatus of a couple decades. They halted it as part of a deal with the NCAA that would let them host NCAA postseason events, most notably March Madness.

Yea I never knew Oregon was one of the exempted states under the 1992 law. I remember, probably close to a decade ago, being astounded at the idea of a Delaware Lottery “parlay card”.

How times have changed.

I wonder if the state is refusing to allow the online books into Oregon because they basically have a monopoly on it right now.

Ahh, I was off on the year of the federal law. I just know it happened under Bush-41.

And yeah, I'm pretty sure OR wants to keep as much of the money as they can. Plus they had always done betting before via the state lottery, so it didn't require them to enact any new laws or pass a ballot measure to start it up again, which might have been required if they were to let a private entity do it. I'm sure that sports betting (and gaming casinos as well) is something that's eating into traditional state lottery revenues all around the country, money they've come to be pretty dependent on I'm sure.
