Is inside linebackers coach a promotion or demotion from outside linebackers coach?
It's always better to be on the inside looking out than the outside looking in, no?

Sounds like Maryland is targeting the week of March 22 to begin spring practices, according to AD Damon Evans.

IMS: Good news on spring ball

Maryland football opens its spring camp on Monday, and some positive related news arrived last week: after a full season barred from games because of COVID-19, fans will be able to see the team play in person next month when the team hosts its annual spring game on April 24, athletic director Damon Evas said on Thursday in an interview with 105.7 The Fan's Vinnie and Hayne Show.

Wes Brown from Testudo Times doing a good job summarizing the team's media day on his Twitter account. Primary takeaways so far:

I read somewhere that Terrence Lewis has been on crutches w/a knee brace on his right leg since arriving at UM last month.

Sounds like it could be a torn ACL that he suffered before joining the team. Depending on when it happened, he may not be a big factor on the field this season.

Transfer QB Reece Udinski suffered a torn ACL during VMI's last game. There was obviously an assumed risk while he played out the Keydets' full spring season, but this leaves Maryland with just one scholarship quarterback headed into the 2021 season.

So predictable it's annoying af.

Know he played in the Florida / Georgia game in mid-Jan... so after that? Ugh, that's horrible.

MD QBs tearing ACLs while playing for other schools now. The college football gods are not done mocking Terps fans yet.

IMS: Prized Terps recruit out with torn ACL
https://247sports.co...jury-162947249/
Maryland football will have to wait a while to get highest-rated recruit on the field. Five-star freshman recruit Terrence Lewis had surgery to repair a torn ACL in his right knee and is out indefinitely, multiple sources familiar with the situation told InsideMDSports.
It's still unclear when he suffered this injury, so it's tough to project a timeline for when he could possibly get back onto the field this year. He's the second player to tear his ACL before even stepping foot on campus, which adds another level to the curse of Maryland football players' knees.

Expectation has to be that he's going to miss '21. Hopefully ready to go for '22.

It must not have been a serious tear if he was apparently able to play with the injury for some part of last season. As for the timeline for his return, I would think the key date isn’t when he injured it, but when he had the surgery, which wasn’t until sometime after he arrived at UM for the semester. I’d say best-case scenario is he could be able to see the field in November. But since they have some depth at LB, even with a couple surprise departures, they might think it’s prudent to give him a full year of recovery/rehab.
Then again, they might need him to play at QB this season, so....

Jeff Ermann tweeted earlier that he heard Lewis may have played on the torn knee for 2 years which is...something. Doesn’t bode well for his high school’s trainers, Florida doctors, or both.
