So it’s Lavi’s fault for having rookie goalies?

No, mainly for being an unadaptable asshat with a system that doesn't fit the roster and unable to motivate and unite his team.

Nah my issue with him is his system. His is kinda similar to Boudreaux with the offense running through an offensive defenseman at the point. He has to have a certain shot guy on a certain side and wants offensive guys in each pair. It led to signing Schultz instead of a more defensive guy. And where a more veteran goalie may have been able to deal with the extra shots they faced because of the d being out of position a lot (see Shultz getting best really bad on Friday), the rookies needed more help back there. They faced way too many shots this year.

There are worse coaches out there than Lavi. I just don’t think it’s a good fit for this team the way it’s built and with the cap issues it had. It would take some major remodeling for his scheme to work the way he wants it to and would need a much better goalie than he has right now.

Goalies played pretty well during the series.  Complete lack of coherent offense killed them.
