Im sure thats very true.

I don't care that much about the arm in LF. If he can track and have solid range in LF he's more valuable than being a 1b/DH.
Not if you have other OF's who better fit in the OF imo.
Obviously the goal if Mancini is healthy next Spring is to not have him in the OF.
By mid '21 you could have:
Mancini at 1st
Mountcastle at DH
Diaz, Hays, Santander Left to Right.
Nunez traded (or 3rd? Probably not).
By '22 you could:
Trade Mancini.
Mountcastle at 1st
Santander or Kjerstad in RF, other at DH.
I mean numerous ways to make it work, but I just don't really want to see him in LF.

That was really nice. Not often you see a guy get picked off at 2nd.

My guy Rio is just lost. 2 out.
Yeah, I like him too, but this is just painful at this point. His BABIP is atrocious. (.190 coming into today)

I feel - despite the average - he had a very good approach most of last year.
In the 2nd half, after he came back... he had better pop (he changed his launch angle).
He had the nice start this year... then hurt his shoulder... and hasn't been good since.
I think approach wise, he's gone too far the other way... trying to pull / drive everything.
He should be a spray guy, use the field, line drive.... that is capable of turning on balls.
BB% actually slightly up over last year, but his K% has really jumped... 21.3 to 25.7%.

A question to ponder. What would happen in the new extra inning rule, if a runner gets picked off second, like Hernandez did. Who do they put on second base to start the 10th. It could not be Hernandez as his spot in the lineup was 2 spots removed? I guess it would have been the last guy to make an out at the plate.

This is Game 34... wonder how many times an O's starter has completed 5 innings?

Yep, I was feeling good about him making adjustments, based on ST and early in the year, but he has regressed.

Didn't know about the shoulder thing, that would make sense. Thought he looked really good the first few weeks. I know 2035 isn't high on his bat.

BB-ref has put a lot of their features behind the paywall. Before that (or still is, if you're a subscriber) Game Play Finder was the perfect tool for exploring these musings.

Akin looks to be on fumes.

Double for the Jays. 2 in scoring position, 1 out.

Yeah, I could go over the box scores anywhere and do the brief hw. Was just being lazy, and saying in-general.
Akin leaves, also does not get through 5.
Still, I'm pleased.
