Minnesota is ranked 11th in the Big Ten with a 7-9 record. Terps sit atop the conference at 12-4. Obviously a huge bulls eye on the Terps backs for this one if you're Minnesota who at 13-13 overall, could hypothetically still get a couple big wins to help their tournament chances. Lunardi has Minnesota as the first Big Ten team out of the tournament currently. 

 

Maryland is 8th in KenPom with the 29th ranked offense and 9th ranked defense, 236th in adjusted tempo. 

 

Minnesota is 31st in KenPom with the 42nd ranked offense and 37th ranked defense, 278th in adjusted tempo.

 

ESPN's matchup predictor gives Minnesota a 52% chance of winning tonight.

This is a game the Terps need to win, if they want the conference and want to stay in the top 3 lines of the tourney.  Minnesota is not bad at home, but the Terps need this game.  Win tonight, and 2 of the last three are at home so 15-5 would look very possible.

If Smith can best Oturu (A tall order), I like their chances a lot. He's a beast. It won't be easy. I agree, they need to win this game if they want the conference.

I think Maryland's guards need to be big in this game.  If they play well, I think Smith and Oturu will balance each other out.  Maryland's guards should do enough to win the game
