Funk posted the following measurements, according to Wes Brown (Testudo Times) on Twitter:

 

40-yard dash: 4.43 seconds

Vertical: 38"

Broad jump: 10'2"

Bench press: 22 reps x 225 Lbs.

Wonder if Funk's 40 yd dash was hand-time or not.

I wish the kid well.  He did not catch many breaks at Maryland with all the injuries, but he did well last year.

Funk is getting a lot of attention today after it was announced that Rams RB Cam Akers tore his Achilles tendon. Huge opportunity for him to grab a lot of carries as a rookie.

TE Chigoziem Okonkwo and DB Nick Cross both accepted invitations today to the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine in March.

Not quite the NFL Draft, but former Maryland DL Cavon Walker was selected by Michigan in the USFL Draft tonight. He led the XFL in sacks two years ago while playing for New York.

EDIT: Former Maryland DB Tino Ellis was also selected by Michigan.

EDIT 3: Former Maryland DB Marcus Lewis was selected by Philadelphia.

I'm sad Will Likely has never gotten an NFL shot.  Small, for sure, but I thought he would be able to carve out a niche as a slot corner and kick returner.

NextGen Stats awarded Okonkwo the highest athleticism score of any TE at the combine. Expect him to start flying up draft boards.

Cross actually ran a 4.34 second official time, the fastest of any safety at the combine.

So Maryland has the fastest TE and S at the combine this year.

While I wouldn’t say he’s necessarily a bad blocker, it’s definitely his worst skill and something he’ll need to continue working on at the next level.

For most NFL offenses, he’d fit right in as a mismatch nightmare in the slot. For the Ravens, he likely wouldn’t block well enough to stay on the field.

29 NFL teams are in attendance for Maryland’s Pro Day, as well as a few CFL teams.

QB Taulia Tagovailoa was also present, throwing for Fleet-Davis and Okonkwo.

Based on his Pro Day performance, DL Sam Okuayinonu would've finished with the fastest 40-yard dash time, the most bench presses, and the highest vertical jump of any defensive tackle at the NFL Combine. He also would've tied for the longest broad jump.

 

Expect him to be drafted in the late rounds, or become a hot target as an undrafted free agent. He'd fit as a 5-technique in an odd-front scheme, or a strong-side defensive end in an even-front system.
