Simmons and especially Russillo will tell you how overrated the defense and physicality was during the 80s and 90s.

Prime Jordan would have scored a ton now, just like he did in his prime.

But again, other than compared to very recent seasons, young and prime Jordan actually played in a much better scoring environment than what we've seen this century.

The 2nd 3 peat are the only years of his Bulls years that saw scoring suppressed, which was largely due to a slow pace and a watered down league.

Yep, their arguments are there above, it's why I added it. Begins at around the 59 minute mark.

Speaking of Simmons.  Man, enough with the Jordan stuff.  I think he's literally put out 10+ hours of podcasts about Jordan in the last few weeks.

With all the GOAT talk, if anyone wants to do a deep dive on the best players ever, this is a truly great work:

https://backpicks.co...in-nba-history/

Of course if you don't want to do a deep dive, you can just look at those you're interested in.

I feel privileged that I got to see MJ play. I wish I saw him live and I wish I saw him earlier than I did but I do feel fortunate that I got to watch him.

Arguably the 2 most dominant athletes ever are MJ and Tiger and to have been able to watch them has been a joy for me. As a sports fan and someone that just appreciates greatness, it doesn’t get much better than being able to say you got to see them do their thing.

It’s also amazing how similar they are.

I would love to be in the same room with them, just listening to stories and talking about what drives them, what their mental thought processes are, etc...

Still wouldn't hold a candle to how much a former poster complained about LeBron.  :D

I saw him in Philly at a game with a client.  Jordan had around 40, and I saw as much of the game as I have seen of this years baseball season.  The damn guy would not shut up.

6.  He was the best basketball player I have ever seen, and everything they do today, Jordan did when he played.

They really weren't that good. Like look at those Utah Finals teams and remember that Malone (he was still elite for that time) and Stockton (averaged 12.0 ppg + 8.5 ast in 98) were both past their athletic primes. But then look at that the rest of the roster. Besides Hornacek, none of those guys are really even starting quality players on good teams (maybe Russell as your 5th best guy?). That was a team that won 126 games in 2 seasons and made it to back to back Finals?!?

The recent Clippers team with CP3, Blake, and company were a similar team, but actually more talented.

Simmons and especially Russillo were bashing this Utah roster on their most recent pod. The same team that was ranked #1 out of MJ's in that article Stoner posted.

Are we supposed to care that those 2 are bashing them?

I mean, I’m not saying they aren’t knowledgeable but I’m sure you can find “experts” that feel differently.

Apparently people are talking about how this documentary is making Pippen look bad.

I’m through episode 7 and I think that anything that makes him look bad are things that he brought on himself.

Great player but made some dumb decisions.

Saw an interesting twitter question about MJ and this documentary.

Does this make you like him more, like him less or no change?

No change.  I've really enjoyed it; but don't think I've really learned any new insight into who he is.
