St Frances 80 Oak Hill 61. St Frances won with team play and defense. Nick Myles is a very underrated coach
Myles has gotten much much better over the years. Because he was horrible a few years back.

Wow. Why did you want Poly to lose?
Because I root for Poly to lose against everybody even if it's dominoes.

It’ll be interesting to see how they do in the tournament. They are playing well. They had a close loss to Reservoir, who is also playing well.Gilman beats probably the second hottest team in the MIAA behind SFA, John Carroll 74-63 at JC. Carroll just finished beating another hot team, Spalding by 12. SFA is fat and away the best team, but after seeing Gilman against MSJ and then shooting 1-22 on 3’s, Gilman is just as good as any team in the league not named SFA. They have now clinched the division. They did all of this without their second best player, Malik Missouri.
Overall, the Red Division has dominated the Black Division this year, almost to the point that its two different tiers. The Red finished with a 34-15 edge over the Black this season. Outside of Calvert Hall, the top 6 teams in the Red held a 33-9 advantage over the Black Division. Gilman, at 4-3, is the only team in the Black to have a winning record v the Red. The deciding win was over Spalding, who the Hounds beat in the very first game of the season. After starting 5-5, the Cavaliers have gone 11-4 since, and are playing much better now. But the separation between the two divisions has been decisive.

Dunbar’s loss. Unless it was something egregious, which I can’t imagine with him, the move seems idiotic.Keith Booth was fired from Dunbar

I agree, definitely will be interesting. Right now, looks like they will play Spalding in the first round of the playoffs. Who, like you said, they beat in the first game of the season. But that was with Missouri. I think the reason why they’ve played so well lately, is because of the play of their big Center Roman Hinds, and the fact that the coach finally realize that you can’t play 13 players in a game. He has cut the rotation to 8 players.

Yes, City will definitely be good. But they’re getting a lot of the top former Private transfers. The key will be whether they can keep kids away from SFA.

If you are at Poly and City theres no need to go to SFA
Kids for some reason haven’t stayed at City. Poly has been a different story.

Outside of St Frances’ 57-53 win over Poly, Boys Latin secured the only other two MIAA wins over the MPSSAA Top 50, with wins over Mervo and Pikesville, who is hanging on to a top 50 spot.
Gilman had three close losses to City, Mervo, and Reservoir. Pallotti lost to Westlake, who jumped back into the top 50 this week. Glenelg Country lost to Woodlawn on Monday. McDonogh lost to Franklin. Gerstell lost to Richard Montgomery, and Calvert Hall lost to Edmondson.

Players go back and forth between publics and privates. There's no private school dominance in basketball here and never has been. In any given year the best team may be public or private and the city league and MIAA pretty much stay even. Basketball is not like football where you need an abundance of talent to be good. There are plenty of basketball players to go around to support both public and private schools.
City has always lost more talent to transfers than they gain. That's always been a fact of life at City in sports and academics. Poly is just getting good at basketball. Once they've been in the game long enough they'll see the same type of player movement.
