He's the one putting his stuff out there, so it's fair game IMO.That’s fine but questioning how much money he should be happy with or making comments about his effort when you don’t know what he does is just flat out wrong.
That had nothing to do with respect. It’s just a wrong thing to do because you have no idea what you are talking about in terms of how it pertains to him.

Yeah, sounds like he thinks the O's disrespected him, so he's considering taking his ball and going home. I can't really blame him, although his post did kind of remind me of all the 'Why I'm Leaving the Hangout" threads that I used to make fun of.
Still, I remember when I first discovered OH, and how incredible it was to find a site like that. Intelligent people, talking about the Orioles? There was nothing else like it at the time. I haven't posted there in years, but I'll miss it if it's gone.

Hmmm, I wonder if this could apply to a different discussion on this board.
I’m sure you could semantically find some way to shove it into something.

Everyone is allowed an opinion, and no one HAS to respect anyone else. Just because you may feel he's worth it, others may not. It's not right or wrong.

I’m not talking about that stuff. He's the one putting his stuff out there, so it's fair game IMO.
McNulty talked about money (the retiring comment, etc..) and McNulty has no idea what Tony does day to day for the site. First of all, I don’t see the need to mention that stuff (especially hinting at finances) and secondly, he just doesn’t know.
I agree the stuff about scouting, etc..is fair game but that’s not what I’m talking about.
If you want to say his craving attention, have at it..I agree that’s fair game as well.
However, if he truly is going to end things, he certainly has the right to announce it and if he didn’t and just shut things down, that would be way worse.

Don't even have to get into semantics.

What if he closed down and everyone came here?
I would be happy with a select group coming over. I wouldn't be happy with everyone coming over.
I say that as someone that hasn't checked out the site in a very long time so my opinion may be outdated.
Stoner would probably be happy, though.

Rob, you are mostly right, but when it comes to that guy, I think he’s earned the criticism. Expecting a monetary gain from a message board is being set up for disappointment.
I don’t like the guy. It clouds my judgment.
Ok, that’s fair. I get that.

Yea I don’t know how I would feel about it either.
I certainly would like their best posters to come over. That’s a no brainer.
But do you want everyone here? That’s a much tougher call for me.
I would probably say no as well but obviously anyone would be welcome..at least at first.

Not a fan of Fearless Leader for several reasons which I don't need to get into.
But I'm a fan of a lot of people there and would definitely enjoy their input.
(I don't think he's walking away though.)

There is baseball, and occasionally there are other things of note
"Now OPS sucks. Got it."
"Making his own olive brine is peak Mackus."
"I'm too hungover to watch a loss." - McNulty

I'd also be surprised to see the foxhole go away. Maybe he'll reduce his role or sell the site, but just shutting it down seems drastic.

I love when people tell you why they are doing what they are doing in a manner that says this isn't what they are doing. Case in point...

I have strong disagreements with his politics and site management over the years, and, I feel thankful/respectful for the community he created and maintained over the years, without which this site wouldn't exist.
This. Emphasizing the word STRONG.
But it was a great site, and i met a few of you that have become "real" friends, and that's pretty damn cool.
So i sincerely thank him and OH for that.

Already pulled the "since you guys care so much, I won't shut down the message board' card. As if anyone here didn't see that one coming.
