Second to last episodes usually are the best episodes in HBO shows. GoT was no different. So last week's episode was good, this one is just setting up next season...which we won't get until 2026.

 

I had a hard enough time keeping track of who people are after a 2 year layoff between seasons 1 and 2. That definitely doesn't help my enjoyment of the show. And I'm a guy who's watched the first show twice and read the books twice.

 

I think we get to a point with franchises where we reach our own saturation points and we stop being as invested as we used to be. It definitely happened to me with Star Wars and Marvel movies.

Felt like a whole season of setup, I looked up the plot and I think they were basically saving their budget for the real dragon vs dragon scenes next season

Felt like a whole season of setup, I looked up the plot and I think they were basically saving their budget for the real dragon vs dragon scenes next season

I think they said this was the best they could do amidst the strike and other issues.

I thought season 1 was mediocre, season 2 was a huge step up, and like everyone else I'm sad we didn't get the fireworks finale but am looking forward to them next season.
