If healthy no team comes with in 3 touchdowns of Mervo. This includes Franklin and Damascus.

🤣😅🤣😅

Mervo plays absolutely no one during the regular season. They aren't built for a 5 game playoff run through a gauntlet of elite teams.

Franklin takes reg. season L's from elite privates so when they hit the playoffs their toughest competition is already behind them.

Mervo had a nice regular season.... but their success stops there.

Mervos schedule is bullshit. They didnt even beat Dunbar or Patterson by 3 touchdowns. Franklin and Mervo are on 2 different levels. Franklin is a proven commodity while Mervo is ........

To be fair, people said the same thing last year - “They don’t play anyone”. “They lost to Dunbar 34-8”. This is before they beat both Howard and Paint Branch on the road, and won a 4A regional title, something no team in the Baltimore City league had done since 1996? Does anyone around here ever have any positive news? Ever?

I do have Franklin coming within 3 touchdowns of Mervo, and would love to make a wager on that. The ‘not coming within 3 touchdowns’ post was made two months ago,

Yea I think Franklin is going to be a beast. Don’t know if anyone can handle them in 3A

They’ll certainly have to earn it, and win on the road in both the quarterfinal and semifinal rounds. At the same token, they knew the risk of playing the three privates and what it would mean as far as seeding goes, should they lose two out of three, or all three. I talk/text with Coach Burgos almost weekly, and I can say he has no regrets about scheduling the better teams. Not one.

I would agree I think knowing all he had to lose was #1 seed it was a good risk and will pay off big time

Actually, more than that. The Tribe could very well be an overall 7 seed (quarterfinal re-seed) in 3A, and head to Linganore for a quarterfinal game. Could be a 6, possibly a 5, but the risk was at least 4 seeds, and a home game.

Will have to run the gauntlet.

If all favorites win they'll have to battle through....

Edgewood
Dundalk
@ Linganore
@ Mervo
Damascus in Annapolis for the title

Damascus vs Franklin should be a barn burner.  I feel optimistic they will meet at some point in the playoffs, if its before the finals it will still be be the de facto 3A championship.

That is tough but after seeing FHS they are built to do it. That would be a great game Dmass and FHS

Not Balt area but that and a QO-Wise rematch would be awesome
