Os have 4 guys...and obviously Adley will make 5.
By the end of the year, Diaz could drop out or move up.
I think Rom is the only guy who has a chance to make the top 100 of the players not currently listed.

Mountcastle (34) and Rodriguez(49) place on the list.
As an aside, the 2 guys I wanted for Manny last year (May and Lux) are now top 15 guys.
When we discussed them last year, people pushed back on them because they were outside of last year’s
Top 100 entering the year and even at mid season, they weren’t really high up on the top 100 lists.
A good reason why those lists can be a bit deceiving.

Fresh off our midseason team Top 30 reporting, we had a lot of info to pore over to update our Top 100. Yesterday's three-and-a-half hour meeting to get to this 100 was epic. Adley Rutschman joins the Top 100 at No. 5. Yes, we think he's that good.

Interesting Mountcastle is that high on BP but not on BA's top 100. He can't be too far off of it. Hes outside of Fangraph's top 100 as well. I think hes going to hit wherever he plays but the walks, strikeouts, and no real position are certainly knocks.
Rutschman at 5 is exciting. Should see him in Aberdeen next week.

He's been slumping the last month, but he's 22 with 39 xbh's at AAA in 364 ab's. That's pretty good.
Only 'concern' I'd have with his bat is the BB / K ratio, but certainly expect him to hit.

That’s a huge concern though.
His OBP is poor and that doesn’t future to improve all that much.
He’s going to have to have a 500+ slugging to provide real value because he won’t give you value anywhere else.
Is he much different than Mancini?

Maybe not, but Mancini has plenty of value too. And of course Mountcastle is younger, will be cheaper, etc.
You don't need star-level production everywhere (not suggesting you are arguing you do).... you need consistently productive guys. Guys that will post-up everyday, and you'll start years being able to pencil them in for a minimum of x.
The plate discipline is an area where if he improves, he can reach his full ceiling and just be awesome... otherwise, he might not be a 'star'. but should be a guy you can count on.

He also wouldn’t be a player I would hesitate to trade for a long term asset either.

Sure..but my point was more about him not being a Top 100 guy.
He also wouldn’t be a player I would hesitate to trade for a long term asset either.
He was until the new class just came in so he can’t be too far off. He’s a top 5 first base prospect. Don’t think he’s really done anything to change his profile or hurt his stock. But at the same time he hasn’t done anything to raise it either. High floor, low ceiling? Similar to Hays for me.

FanGraphs has the Orioles as the 12th best minor league system in baseball, tied with the Texas Rangers.
Baseball America has us at 8th.
