24 years old (turns 25 June 20th). Right handed starting pitcher. Elias drafted him for Houston in the 2nd round in 2015. Sounds like fringe stuff (90-92 fastball) but very good control. Interesting guy. Norfolk’s rotation is trash so certainly helps there. Won’t take much to give him a look on the ML team.
AAA: 1-1, 2.77 ERA, 26 IP, 5 BB, 23 K, 1.08 WHIP
AA: 0-3, 6.28 ERA, 28.2 IP, 6 BB, 26 K, 1.71 WHIP

Can he be Miguel Gonzalez?

Looks like he had a really good year in AAA in 2017, and then a horrible one in 2018. Maybe there's a minor injury or something that he can hopefully recover from.

Orioles just traded International bonus slots to the Phillies for this guy.
The Phillies have five days to spend that money.

How'd he get from Houston to Philly?
Part of the Ken Giles deal.

He isn't pitching that well this year but wtf, its worth a shot. MLB.com had him as the #99 player in 2015. BA had him around 125.

Good enough for me to give him Hess’ next turn in the rotation.

Hunter was talking about this last night. Great start. Does he usually get a lot of K's? Groundball pitcher?

Read the OP.

Control/command guy. Maybe Dan Straily before he turned into a pumpkin?
