Not even anything like we had with NC State or UVA, yet alone the tier above.

I'm interested in big games against quality opponents, but there is zero rivalry factor for me in the Big Ten.

Wow... I don't think you are alone, but yeah I don't feel like that at all.

Not to speak for anyone besides my Maryland friends, but I'd guess that most people feel this way.

Agreed.
I see it on social media (in small sample sizes admittedly) all the time.
Chris is definitely in the minority when it comes to this and really, I refuse to believe you get up for Indiana as much as you did for NC St or someone like that. I’m not even putting Duke and UNC in the conversation because we know that’s not even close.
Hell, to the older fans, NC st probably is in that category as well.

But, honestly, I find no difference in hatred between Clemson, Georgia Tech and Wake versus Iowa, Ohio State or Minnesota.
Plus the ACC isn’t the same anyway. Our “rival” was going to be Pitt lol.

I get lathered up much more for Indiana than NC State cmon.

Get out of here... there were two teams I was excited about playing in the ACC. 2. And if I'm being really honest, it was 1.
The rest were just jerseys.
If they had a good team, that was interesting, but it's not like I cared more about those games.
Same in the B10. It's only Michigan State, I'm super excited about out.... but absolutely zero difference for me with Ohio State, Indiana, Purdue, Michigan, Wisconsin, Iowa etc vs. UVA, NCST, Wake, FSU, Clemson, GaTech.
Ultimately the only thing I care about is Maryland.

And again, you are in the minority of fans.
Because there was 50 years of games vs. those other teams, and those fans are remembering games that mattered and the consistency of that experience.
Vs. 5 years (this is year 6) in the B10... and maybe 5 games that have mattered. Need games that matter for fans to feel.
You don't just feel because you are playing a team. There has to be something on the line, and there hasn't been enough of that, yet.
If there are fans out there (and apparently there are) that gave an F about UVA, and NCST... okay. But I've been as big a MD fan as anyone since '92, and I sure as hell didn't. And I might be the minority, but I'm sure I'm not alone either.

I think we can have some short term rivalries based on mutual quality, but it'll be decades before it matches what we had in the ACC.
And while everyone is right that the new format of the conference would've been different than the past greatness in the ACC, that history would still be there. The Big Ten has the same issues with no home and home and forced rivals. It's a problem in the Big Ten that it wouldn't be as much in the ACC because we're trying to establish something new now rather than continue something long established.

Chris you're absolutely right that the difference is 50 years of games and the history. That's what they lost and can never get back having moved to the Big Ten. That's exactly why Indiana and OSU are not needle movers unless they are really good when NC State or UVA used the get fans excited even if they weren't that great. You'd remember back to when it was a big game for both teams. History means something.

Not to mention, the Bjg Ten schools don’t care about you guys.
You will never be “one of them”.

This is narrow minded. In 20 years none of this will matter

Florida State joined the ACC in 1990
Penn State joined the Big 10 in 1990
Both didn’t start play until a few years later

Great...we aren’t talking about 20 years from now. This is a discussion about now.
But even long term, I’m not sure MD will ever be “one of them”.

MD wasn't considered one of them (part of the ACC) either.
