Wizards should have traded Beal. They have to blow up the team.

Reddish should have been the pick though. I understand why teams would be worried about Cam. I’d be worried about between the ears.

However, his upside is huge and the Wizards need that.

Rui becoming a good role player does nothing for you in the NBA (in terms of building a title team from the beginning).

If you take Reddish and he sucks, you don’t lose a ton vs what Rui likely gives you.

But if Cam reaches his potential, you have just stolen an AS.

I don't know that I even disagree with you. I absolutely see the potential for him to be better than all but the top 2 picks. But like you said, that mental thing, does he want it enough? Will he put in the work?I dunno that I'd be risking a mental question mark on this team especially, cause it's such a hot mess. Will pick up some bad habits, like back in the Nick Young/Javale McGee days.

Rui I feel like is a real good solid pick for a team like HOU or GS, where they have a contending team, and they are looking for some pieces that can play some specific focus. Especially if it's a smaller team with a bunch of good shooters. Like Mike said though, if he makes some strides because he learns some things, and he plays smarter, there is some real room for improvement. Say if he learns positioning better and his rebounds jump up to double digits, a guy that can give you 14 and 12 a game would be HUGE. I don't know if he can be that guy, but I see why they'd take that risk vs the guy that they just don't know if he FEELS like being good or not.

I'd bet that he'd go above at least one of the top 5 picks in a re-draft 5 years from now. A lot of the draft guys I pay attention to had him as a top 5 prospect in this draft.

Yeah I've read a lot about him lately too, he was one I really had my eyes on tonight. That and where Bruno goes in the 2nd round. Part of me was hoping the Wiz could steal him in the top half of the 2nd, but I don't think they have that pick :/

The question isn’t his desire or if he will put in the work.

Since he was in HS, the knock against him was that when things got rough, his confidence would go down.

He’s a high character guy...you don’t worry about his work ethic.

I worry about him disappearing. Mentally or physically it's still something he's got to fix to play at this level. Confidence or desire, whatever it is, if he can't figure it out, you can't count at him at this level.

I don't think he's a bad kid or anything, it's just that work you have to put in, you have to figure it out, whether it's just pushing through to the point that you don't get down on yourself or finding another outlet for the depression, if you're going to be a star in the NBA you gotta put the work in to get on top of it. Still toughness, it's just mental toughness vs physical toughness.

I don’t like the Grant Williams pick here.

Seems like a second rounder to me.

He is a really tough player, but too short for the type of game he plays.

I like the way he plays though.

Grant Williams was a strong value based on many of the draft guys I pay attention to.

It's a very weird thing for there to be a market for knowing the draft picks a minute or two early. What are people getting out of that?

If he does it on twitter, fine. But now he’s going on tv and announcing trades and picks before they happen. It’s annoying.

It must suck to fall further than you thought you would but when you get to go to the best organizations, that is huge for your development.

Once you get into the league, it doesn’t matter what number you got drafted. Just get in and work.
