Bill James went too far by insulting the beer vendors like that.

Paxton is really good but has had injury issues. Sheffield is a hell of a prospect.

Sheffield may not gain enough control of all his pitches, in which case they'll pare him down to a FB/Slider guy out of the pen ala Josh Hader. Similar low H/9 rates and high K:BB ratio, too.

It's a good trade for both teams. I like it for NYY since it puts a high end #2 behind Severino..

If Paxton stays healthy that’s a hell of a 1-2 punch. And you know they’re gonna sign at least one of Corbin, Keuchel, Eovaldi, or Happ.

Adrian Beltre retiring

I hope that, in five years when he goes into Cooperstown, the Hall puts his plaque within reach so that people can rub his head for luck.

At least three of them have had sons/nephews reach the majors over that period.

I will miss Beltre. Easily my favorite active player. Would have like to have seen him hit 100 WAR and 500 HR's but he was breaking down badly. Should be a first ballot HOF. Awesome baseball player.
