What a disastrous end to their season. From 8-3 to 9-8 to miss the playoffs.

I know Lawrence had his health issues, but they lost to Cleveland and Cincinnati with back-up QBs starting and were crushed by a pretty mediocre TB team. Then of course they lose to a 5-11 Titans team to end their season.

Gotta wonder if Pederson survives that collapse.

Pederson is safe. TLaw wasn't the only guy banged up there. They will need receiver help though. Defense could also use some pieces. Tannehill getting Tennessee a meaningless win and weakening their draft capital cracks me up. Teams are just so damn stupid.

That's a divisional rivalry.  Do you think anyone here would want the Ravens to lay down for a better draft position if they had the opportunity to prevent the Steelers from winning the division and going to the playoffs?  I don't think so.  A couple of spots higher in the draft isn't going to be that important.  Knocking out a hated rival at least was something Tennessee fans could take away from a miserable season.

It’s foolish. There’s no defending it. This is a great draft class at WR and QB, they need both. This win could absolutely cost them a bit. But hey, they got to be happy for a few minutes! Worth it!

Will it even cost Tennessee a spot? Maybe one? They'd lose a tiebreaker with NYG. Close on SOS with Chargers. If Arizona wins that'd be one they edge out in tiebreaker, but they have to win first.

Gimme the win against a division rival, especially to knock them out if playoffs, over one draft spot that isn't in position for a QB (basically just #1 or #2 most years).

I do realize the Ravens just had this scenario, lost, and the difference between 14th and 18th worked out nicely. Not saying it can't work out well. Just that on a macro level the differences in draft position aren't as great as it feels.

Short sighted and foolish. A few minutes of joy for even a drop of one spot is just dumb.

I'm dumb then, I guess. I'll take the win in the Titans position.

That opinion is. What difference does it make? If a guy like Penix gets taken a spot ahead of you, or Malik Nabers, how is that not the height of stupidity for a few minutes of joy over beating a faux rivalry (who the hell cares about Jax vs. Tennessee). It also lowers your spot in every round. I find it incredibly short sighted. But we can agree to disagree.

Do they really need much receiver help? Ridley and Kirk are a pretty good duo.

You can still move around and get who you need. It doesn't eliminate all possibilities.

Also, plenty of times the guy you want ends up available lower anyways. Or you wanted the wrong guy who went earlier and are lucky to have ended up with your fallback option (the Ed Reed scenario).

If we're not talking way top of the draft, I really don't think a few spots of position makes much if any difference. Maybe 5th to 7th or wherever Tenn would be us close enough to the top for it to be meaningful, I don't have a feel for an exact cutoff. I do believe that the Ravens two years ago were well past that cutoff (middle 1st).

Also it's fair that you're just taking one game and not tanking a season to get that draft capital. That's a big difference from enduring half or most or all of a seasons worth of ineptitude.

I think they're in the area where it is a significant difference in value.

I am happy the Bengals went 4-3 after Burrow went down. They could have easily had a top 10 pick.

Pederson should be on the hot seat for taking Travis Etienne out of the mix in critical short yardage situations late in that game. Insanity. Stupidity. Whatever word fits, use it.
