CHC showed class by taking their foot off of the accelerator the entire 2nd half.
Wrenn has proven to be one of the worst
OC /coaches in Maryland and possibly the most disliked person on Roland Ave. [Overheard several conversations after the game tonight]
Most folks can accept the losses, but for Wrenn not starting quality players and just deliberately sabotaging their attempts to put some sort film together to send out to colleges is just mean spirited.
(No, I don’t have a son on the team)
I Doubt Gilman football will ever return to what it once was (even before Biff) in our lifetime.
I wish the Grey pups all the best.

Pretty bad situation sounds like hope the kids come out of this ok and the program doesn’t die all together

I don’t even think Wrenn is the OC anymore. I heard it was a dude named Rob Ford. Gilman will get back to where it was, because Football means that much to the school!! They will fire the Headmaster if things don’t changed. Give the coach another year. You do realize that they were in the Championship game last year right?

Watched the championship game last year.

Greyhounds played well towards end of last season.
Smyth is a good man, just not a “Gilman Guy”
and some alumn do not like him.
I think he is doing what the trustees ask of him.

Did watch game last night and came away with a few impressions. Gilman skill players very lacking with an exception or 2. QB not ready for prime time . #20 good player but seemed as if his best O Lineman may have been on sideline most of the night? At least the size was on the sideline. CHC D Line is a known quantity. Would want size in front of me against those guys if I was QB or running ball. CHC 1st D could do anything they wanted whenever they wanted to.
CHC QB played well. Threw the ball with timing and on point, mid distance and deep. Amazing what protection will do for you. Tucker did not play.
Was told there is no Gilman JV? If they go win-less this year with nothing in pipeline how will program move forward? MIAA needs a strong Gilman in it to remain relevant. Kudos to the Gilman kids who are sticking it out this season. Also kudos to DD who could have hung a 60 burger on those kids and did not do it.

Lot of alums don’t like him. I actually didn’t like him, until I spent a little time with him earlier this year here in LA at our alumni event. Told him that night, that he had to hire the MSJ coach. Was told directly by Holley, that the new coach hire was 100% up to Smyth. And he went with an out of town guy. Which was asinine in my opinion. You either get a known local commodity, or you get an Alum to coach.
I truly believe that Smyth is doing what he wants to do, more than the trustees at this point. They don’t want another Poggi, but they definitely don’t want this. This is embarrassing! I don’t think the coach lasts three more years, if something doesn’t change.

Gilman has no numbers and decimated with injuries already. #20 Spanky Dixon is their best player by far, on both sides of the ball. He should have been the RB the whole game.Did watch game last night and came away with a few impressions. Gilman skill players very lacking with an exception or 2. QB not ready for prime time . #20 good player but seemed as if his best O Lineman may have been on sideline most of the night? At least the size was on the sideline. CHC D Line is a known quantity. What also perplexes me, they didn’t have the super frosh #23 starting st LB. They started the senior kid #21, and he’s just not as good. They played the frosh a lot at RB, but he’s better at LB. He is a beast there. Gilman is missing their biggest playmaker, and kid who would have been the fastest player on the field on both sides(with Tucker out for CHC), Jahir Roberts. He also is their best DB.
Donald is a good guy, t wish he hadn’t done that. Wish he ran the score up on them!!

Sad to see what has happened to this program. They have 5 kids playing in the league this year, I assume this is the most of any school in the area.
