So, no real high upside guy.

Whether its what they wanted or not, they received 3 pitchers who should be part of the staff, one way or another, this year or start of next year.

Carroll is a big arm...can touch 100MPH.  55 ks in 41.2 IP this year.  Has only given up 8 homers in 226 MiL innings, including 0 this year.

Lots of Ks...but his BB rate is high as well.

Definite power arm with good upside out of the pen.

But I wish we had gotten a Garcia or Sauer or someone younger, further away and a higher ceiling.

I am surprised Houston didn't beat this offer.

This is a pretty nice deal considering ....I'm not sure it trumps the Herrera deal though

Not happy with Tate as the headliner or the other guys as secondary pieces. I'd like Carroll as a 2nd piece just fine though if the headliner was more appealing.

Carroll could easily be in the pen soon.

MLB.com has Carroll as the #15 prospect.

Chris, I would expect him to be in the pen almost immediately.  He is 25.  Why wait?

Doesn't look like he has anything to prove at AAA.  Sure.

Agreed. Those guys make big league appearances, so what. Highly, highly doubt any of them are impactful. I have a problem helping the Yankees win when you could've gotten deals like this anywhere. Tate and Carroll feel like such a Buck call's, btw. Buck wants guys who are in higher levels, even if their upside is limited. Disagree highly with this strategy. Main piece should've been all upside.

But we don't know that they could have gotten that guy.

Still, my guess is they could have from someone...considering the amount of teams out there.

They definitely seemed to value guys close to the majors in this deal.

It is still pending medicals and Tate has been hurt some, so we will see.

Norfolk Shuttle just added some depth. That's all.

Just stop. Buck has nothing to do with these deals.

But yeah, I refuse to believe no other team offered comparable deals. Tate is a prospect but older with no more upside. Carroll and Rodgers are just guys. Not completely irrelevant but just guys

Yuck.

Bring up Carroll right away and hope he can stick as a MR. Gotta hope Tate is able to jump start his completely stalled career.

This is a worse deal than Conor Moran last year, IMO. Gotta take the best deal you can get at this point, but this is the type of disappointing return I was afraid of. Tate will be at the back end of our top 10, Carroll the back of our top 20. Value is reasonable. I just don't like the specific guys. Not much upside.

Zero upside, and thats just inexcusable for a team in our position.

I love Buck. This was him. He needs to go. Wrong mindset, horrible influence right now. This team is nowhere close and deals like this only make the rebuild longer. We need a core. These are trades you make when you have a core. We don't have one.
