Eric Davis
Mo Vaughn
Carlos Delgado
Eric Gagne
Moises Alou
Kevin Brown
Great list.
Eric Davis... awesome talent, awesome guy.
Mo Vaughn... David Ortiz before David Ortiz.
Delgado.... huge numbers...
Gagne had that unhittable stretch....
Alou was excellent...
I really like the Kevin Brown mention. Here, he kept putting out his hand on comebackers.... he was okay that year. Leaves here, goes to the Marlins... and just lights out.

Who was the slugging Cubby we wanted all those years who played 1B? We got him at the end, per usual. Drawing a blank. He was good. Kinda proves the point, no?
For some reason Ron Kittle popped into my head, but he was a CWS when he was actually good.

I know he wasn't a great hitter, but Ron Karkovice was a pretty damn good catcher.

Won't pretend I remember Dwight Gooden's '84 and '85 seasons.... but wow were they ridiculous. Ages 19 and 20. Unreal.
