I was offered $2 for Corey Davis in my auction keeper league. I'm not keeping him, so seems like a no-brainer. But for such a paltry sum, do I deal him away and let another owner keep him (for $10 this year, increases by $10 every year) or dump hum back into the pool and hope he costs someone else more money?
It's one of the good owners offering me this trade. I'd definitely make the deal if it was one of the donkeys, but I worry about giving an intelligent owner a potential massive asset for the next few years. On the other hand, it would take up one of his keeper slots, and if Davis doesn't break out, then it's a wasted keep at least for this season.
Thoughts?
Titans aren’t an explosive offense. 4 games against the Jags and Texans Ds. Maybe negotiate up to $5 and if he says no, take the $2. If you aren’t keeping him take something instead of nothing.
I tend to not care too much about who I’m trading with. Some guys I will think “If he wants him he must be good” and I’ll do my homework to make sure he doesn’t know something I don’t know. But end of the day, 90% of league success is managing your roster in season. No one wins on draft day. Take the couple bucks if it’s there, throw it at a guy you really really want instead of being out bid by $2. Then it’s no harm no foul.
