It's a little early but lots of reason for optimism:

 

1. Reds: 8-27

2. Orioles: 8-26

3. White Sox: 9-23

5. Royals: 11-23

6. Padres: 13-23

7. Marlins: 13-21

 

Reds are going to be tough and the White Sox are no slouch. An ass kicking by KC would really help the cause.

Watch the 2019 draft be incredibly shallow too. No Harper's, Strasburg's, Correa's. Watch it be Tim Beckham be the best thing going. Or the #1 pick from the O's will be a complete bust while the next Tim Lincecum and Max Scherzer goes #2 and #3.

 

Also just found out that Walker Buehler was taken one pick ahead of D.J. Stewart. One damn pick.

Over 162 games we're not the worst team in MLB. We all know that. It comes down to how poorly we play the rest of this month and then when and how big a firesale we have.

We're a bit of an underdog here I admit, but lets hope for the best. A good draft this year and a stud #1 pick next year could go a long ways.

They’ve only won games in two cities so far and more than 21% of the season is gone. And one of those is Baltimore. 21 runs worse than any other team in MLB in run diff. I think weve got top 5 locked up.

This team is buried. That doesn't mean you quit playing. There are other things to play for besides a playoff spot. And they are making a crap load of money to play like professionals. Each and every night. Treat each game as its own entity.

 

But you are kidding your self if you think the players honestly think they still have a shot at the playoffs.
