I'm giving my dad a trip, calling it the "B1G Trip". It started as an idea to take a road trip to Ann Arbor for the Maryland-Michigan game next year, but then I did some extra planning and we're going to hit the Pro Football Hall of Fame on the way there, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on the way back. Taking it as a long Columbus Day weekend.
The best part is that I'm putting together a video reveal to play for him on Christmas Day. I win Christmas this year.

My wife wants a Nintendo Switch.
I'm gonna give her a tree branch and tell her, "You said you wanted a switch."
I'm weird.
But no, nothing extra special this year for me.

I struggle to buy for my wife every year. We've been married 15 years. I'm on repeat gifts at this point but I got her some Cirque de Soleil tickets this year, and she always enjoys that. Plus some other stuff that can be drunk.

Well I'll take this as a sign and make this about me because I literally was just obsessing over this, then this thread pops up. My God Sons 1 year birthday party is tomorrow. The fuck do I get him?
You cannot go wrong with Orioles gear and other clothes that are a couple of sizes too big.

I am struggling with what I want.
Everything I want now is stupid expensive.
It gets tougher every year. It won't be hard to shop for my kids. My wife can be tough at times but usually, I can come up with good stuff for her.
But between her and my mom asking what i want, my answer is still, I don't know.
The only thing I know I want is the super nintendo mini...good luck finding it though.

Thats actually what I was thinking. Is this God Father/1st Birthday pressure just self inflicted?
I actually have to figure out the same thing, but he's a Philly kid.
He's still getting Orioles gear.

That's my problem. My wife wants to break the bank this year but I really don't want anything that isn't off the charts.
I really need some new bowling gear. That's about it.

Right, was just trying to think if there was any significant gifts from my youth.... literally no recollection. I think my favorite gift from childhood was that stupid Home Alone Talkboy, lol. Believe it or not, when the console gifts started happening, those were more frustrating... as one of 4 siblings. Sharing sucked.

What you want to do is get gifts that help the parents...clothes, for example.
Shit they don't have to buy but the kid actually needs.
As a parent, those are the best kinds of gifts when they are that age.

Something with colors and lights that makes noises. They are at that stage where they are starting to get really mobile now and want to get into EVERYTHING, so something for them to manipulate switches, push buttons, make noises and be obnoxious is usually what captivates them...and keeping them out of the pots and pans drawers is nice.

This definitely holds true for him. Good advice. Thanks. Rob too.

Not sure what your budget is, but the activity cube is a good one.
