Kickoff time just announced. I'll be on hand for this one as well!

Rob and Ricker saying in the general section that Indiana should be favored.

Which might be fair, but this is a game MD has to win. Not talking about bowling. Just saying MD needs to be able to beat Indiana and Rutgers, even with their 3rd QB.

Terps were overmatched vs. Wisconsin, but did like that they kept playing.  Need to get out in-front of Indiana.  Starts on the ground.  Have to be able to run effectively.

Indiana has been alright so far this season. They're 0-4 in conference, but those losses are to Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan, and Michigan State. They're hoping to win 3 of their last 4 against Maryland, Rutgers, and Illinois to get bowl eligible. They played Michigan State very tight last week, and did the same thing to Michigan two weeks ago when they took them to OT.

This won't be easy for the Terps. Offensively, Indiana is a lot like Northwestern. They have one of the worst rushing offenses in the country, and an average passing attack. Defensively though, the Hoosiers are much better. They currently have the 29th-best defense in the country, and are particularly good against the pass and on 3rd downs. If the Terps are able to run the ball, they should be able to have success in this game. But if they struggle like they have in 3 of their last 5 games, it'll be another long day.

Hopefully homecoming brings out their best effort.

Indiana easily could have won any of the games vs MSU, Mich and OSU.

Indiana opens as a 4.5 point favorite in this one.

At least the game will be played in relative privacy, going up against the Penn State-Ohio State game on TV.  Indiana's defense is tough.  Would take a major improvement in the Terps' offensive game to get a win.

Yeah, this feels like a defensive battle to me. Might come down to field position and which team can hit on a few explosive plays. The Terps have fought pretty well in their homecoming games in recent memory. They annihilated Purdue last year, lost a close one to Wisconsin in 2015, beat Iowa in 2014, played tight with Clemson in 2013 despite an insane number of injuries, and lost a close one in the QB massacre vs. N.C. State in 2012. So if history tells us anything, it's that this will be a close game.

Weather looks absolutely perfect (mid-60s, sunny). I'll be hosting a little tailgate for the old UMD squad, so definitely looking forward to it!

No change to this week's depth chart.

Lisa Byington and J Leman will be on the call for BTN.

BSL: 5 Thoughts Before Maryland/Indiana

Last week wasn't terrible, Taivon Jacobs is stepping up, and enjoy it while you can. All that and more in this week's 5 Thoughts.

They still need to mix in some of the younger receivers more, or they could be in deep trouble next season. If DJ Moore leaves early, which seems very plausible, the projected returning WRs currently have 8 receptions combined. And they currently have 0 completions to a TE. WTF? Better put out an AMBER Alert for that group.

It's multiple years without getting the TE's involved, and there is actual ability there... it's odd at best.

I've seen Edwards targeted on several occasions this season. I agree that if they wanted to make them a bigger part of the offense the talent should be there. Seems a waste to have a TE otherwise.

Part of the problem with the tight ends is that, due to the poor pass protection of the offensive line, they've essentially been used as extra linemen for the past two years. So instead of running routes, they're staying in to block on most passing plays. Not to mention that Ty Johnson and Lorenzo Harrison aren't good in pass protection, so Jake Funk typically enters the game on 3rd downs. If the line can improve their pass protection, Walt Bell should be able to use his tight ends more.

Yellow does not belong on football uniforms, at least not as the primary color. Green Bay are about the only ones who pull it off.
