Dest with a knee injury and out till early next season so will miss COPA. Bummed.
What's wrong with Adams now, apparently he's hurt again.
Well we’ve seen them without both of those guys recently, enough to know they are a much better team with them. Sucks.

Lineup is out for US - Brazil. Comes on at the top of the hour on TNT. Only 2 changes from the team that looked dreadful against Columbia.
Pepi at the 9 over Balogun. Which is fine.
Musah at the 6 over Johnny. Tough here. Johnny was one of the bright spots the other night. Musah can handle the ball well under pressure but don't think he's the defender that Johnny or Adams are. Sounds like Adams is only fit to go 20 or 30 minutes so we might not see him at all until COPA?

Every coach on that list has some strong points and merits strong consideration. And most of them have a downside point or two as well but nothing, to me, that would want me to dismiss them. With one exception. I want no part of Tomas Tuchel. That guy drove Chelsea into the ground and game paltry minutes to Pulisic. Surely there was something going on at Chelsea and Tuchel had to have been a big part of it.
Now there is NO question he is a terrific game prep manager. I wouldn't puke if they chose him, and he wouldn't be the lowest on my list either. But I think there are better options overall.
No freaking go get me Klopp!
And there is one pretty intriguing name that didn't get mentioned in that article and that is Joachim Low.

I would hope they've spent the past week working on a list candidates of those that 1) they believe will elevate the team, and 2) will seriously consider taking the job if offered. They can't have taken this long to simply decide to move on from Berhalter.....well, they probably could, but that would just be another sad indictment of USSF.

It was always the longest of long shots, but scratch Jurgen Klopp off the list, though USSF still sounds interested.

Here's a name for you guys to keep your eyes on. Cavan Sullivan of the Philadelphia Union. He scored his first pro goal last week and it was voted the MLS goal of the week.

Oh and he is only 14 years old. No that is not a typo.

U-23s have their second Olympic match today against New Zealand. The lost their first match to France (pre tourney favorites) 3-0. But it was really closer than the score. France did control the game but was limited in making openings for shots. They had 3 good chances. Unfortunately they scored all 3. The US also had 3 really good chances. Hit the crossbar. Hit the post, And the France keeper made a crazy good reaction save.
So pretty optimistic for the match today and the final group stage match. They should advance to the knockout rounds.

U23s final group stage match coming up in 45 minutes. Multiple ways to advance but just win and they are guaranteed to move on unless NZ were to beat France and catch up on goal differential. But I don't see France losing to NZ.
