Gotta hope Hall is a good baseball name

In Round 2, Orioles draft SS Adam Hall from Canada
yikes. Why.
Maybe they went on the phone and said "...we got a Hall with a pick and now we're going to....wait....we didn't say A Hall for the second pick....."

In Comp B Round, O's take Zac Lowther from X!
Why would you draft a college kid whose best pitch is a 87-90 mph fastball.

Well if you can command it and have good secondaries, you can be a very successful pitcher and you could move quickly.

...maybe as a reliever....hopefully we're not drafting LHRP with the 74th pick.

You are placing way too much importance in velocity....maybe as a reliever....hopefully we're not drafting LHRP with the 74th pick.
BA had him in the top 100 as early as mid April.
Melewski:
With pick No. 74, O's took LHP Zac Lowther from Xavier. Led Cape Cod Lg in strikeouts last summer. 13.4 K/9 this year.

Less velocity means less margin for error...but it doesn't mean you can't be a very good ML pitcher either.

Btw..if his secondaries suck or command isn't great, then I don't really like the pick either.
Less velocity means less margin for error...but it doesn't mean you can't be a very good ML pitcher either.
He sounds like Donnie Hart....and we burned a 27th rd pick on that one....

#Orioles take Adam Hall. This kid has a really good hit tool & he's very projectable physically. He's going to hit for average right away
He's listed at 5'11"....which means he's probably 5'10". How projectable can he be.

Altuve is 5'6"
....so because one guy in MLB is good and 5'6" we should draft shorter players?
That doesn't sound like a strategy that will win.
I hope he's great, seriously, I just think they spent 2 early picks with limited upside profiles.
It's not like this team has had success we could believe in fighting profiles.
I'm sure I'll like the guys drafted after the 5th round better.
