One of the highlights of my year. But I'm on-record as hating the majority of my fellow Ravens fans, so...:P

Man, this was one of the more fun guys to watch on film this season. He's ridiculously good. It's not often I'll say a player is worth more than his contract, especially a guy with $100 million deal, but the Texans have got an absolute steal at that price.

I think Watt is hands down the best defensive player in the NFL, but he also gets the benefit of playing in probably the worst division in football. The OLs he plays 6 times a year are among the worst in the league. When he has played some of the better lines he has been held in check to some degree. I'm hoping that Yanda and Wagner are ready to battle because they are likely going to see the most of him. I am especially looking forward to seeing Yanda vs Watt.

Watt is the best player in the NFL.

We need to control him and just can't assume victory vs this team.

Certainly can't just assume victory. Houston QB situation looks favorable for the Ravens, but they have a solid running game with Arian Foster and two big receivers in Andre Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins who are always threats regardless of the quarterback.

Hopkins may not even play...which is probably pretty big for the Ravens too.

He's a good deep threat.

Oh yeah that would absolutely huge if he doesn't play.
I never had friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?

I would delay, draw and screen right at Watt, make him think twice about getting up field quickly.

And off topic, stay away from Jonathan Joseph when possible.

I dont know about going right at Watt. You could try to drop in a screen over him and he jumps 12 feet in the air to grab a pick 6.

Completely agree about Joseph. Hes picked on Flacco a lot over the years.

If he reads the screen, that's trouble....but that applies to any screen play that gets read by a defense.

IMO, the worst thing we can have today is a Watt strip, sack, fumble, so we have to try to limit an aggressive get off at the snap. If we can victimize Watt a few times by getting past him, it should bode well.

Thats true. I know Kubiak doesn't use the shotgun often. But maybe we see more if it today, and just get the ball out fast. The only gripe I have, and its a minor with with Kubiak, is when they go empty backfield with Joe under the center. You're obviously not running the ball, so just go shotgun with empty set.

Couldn't agree more. I believe the 1st game of the year ended with a shotgun, empty backfield set.

We're gonna need to chip with a TE and/or keep a back in to help on Watt. Additional protection, of course, means less guys running routes so we'll need precision in the passing game. Play action should be huge.
