At what point do you move Hays, a college bat, to AA?
Still wish he was walking more but its starting to get to the point where you need to see what he can do in the upper minors.

I say right now sounds like a good time to challenge him.

Hays has nothing left to prove at Frederick.

Minor League all-star break coming up soon. Usually the O's make their moves then.

As brilliantly predicted by myself, Hays has indeed been promoted to Bowie.

Cool, but I was hoping to catch him in Frederick next week.

Doing well at Bowie gets him on the major league radar, especially if he is a plus outfielder. We have very few of those.

Do we have any?

902 OPS in the SSS of 24 at bats so far in Bowie. Good to see him getting off to a good start.

Long way to go in this season still, but if he keeps it up he's making a case for a starting corner OF spot with the O's next season. Kim and Smith are probably gone. Mancini seems to be settled in LF with Jones in CF. Hays could man RF. Not sure on his arm. Ideally Jones moves to RF but he probably thinks he doesn't need to do that yet.
