I'm just curious I've seen different numbers thrown around, do you have a link? Also, does the $3 go to MASN or to him personally? He owns 85% of MASN now? So if it's $3 that's MASN yet then he gets 85% of that in theory. But I think before he gets to profit, the $3/month covers expenses, unless advertising gets all that.

What I'm trying to say can anyone say with any real certainty not just speculation what his profit is? I'd love to know how much he's making between MASN/Orioles in terms of a profit.

He's not opening up his books, nor should he as a private citizen, not running for public office.

I hope PA is making millions. How much money he makes is none of our business.

However, if he asks us to spend money on his product, it's fair for us to ask him to put a good product on the field.

He is producing enough revenue to do that.

And people have responded by staying away from OPACY. Yes, I know people haven't responded by not paying for basic cable.

How much do you think MASN makes from those subscriber fees?

I believe they have about 8M subscribers. Could be a bit more, no less than 7M.

As far as revenue generated... This August 2011 article from the NY Times, provided some estimates:

http://www.nytimes.c...?pagewanted=all

"SNL Kagan estimated that the network’s revenue should hit $158.7 million this year."

I don't have time right now but I'll try to find some documented stuff.

The $3 thing is definitely true. Going by Chris' numbers, 8 mil X $3 = $24 mil (and it's $3 and change so it's even more) per month. So that's $288 mil per year (and likely over $300 again because it's $3 and change).

I find these numbers to be dubious. I just don't think MASN has that kind of revenue. Also, even IF their revenues are that high, I'd imagine their costs are fairly ridiculous given their non-baseball programming including working with multiple conferences in NCAA, etc. etc.

And of that $288 million(assuming it's true for the sake of argument), Angelos gets ~85% with the remaining going to the Nats owners. And how much of that is covering operating costs. So what I'm asking is what is the true profit number?
